Max Verstappen has raised concerns about the bumpy Circuit of the Americas ahead of the 2026 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
The four-time world champion joked that he might need to “order a new spine” after the weekend, after watching the World Endurance Championship race at COTA and seeing how rough the track surface appeared.
Some sections have been resurfaced for 2026, including the stretch from Turn 9 to Turn 11, while bumps approaching Turns 12 and 19 have also been smoothed out. However, Verstappen believes the circuit will still be a major challenge for the drivers.
The Red Bull star also played down expectations of another victory, saying he would assess his competitiveness once the weekend gets underway.
