Rossi admitted that the ritual was carried out as a moment where he invited his motorbike to talk from heart to heart. That moment was also used by The Doctor – Rossi’s nickname – to reduce the anxiety that often arises before the race takes place.
“When I’m near the bike, it’s a ritual. Usually I squat next to him. I tried to talk to him, cheered him on, told him that at the start, it was just me and him, and we had to try to get on the podium,” explained Rossi, as quoted from Sky Sport, Wednesday (1/4/2020).
